9.15&16.11 McCloud Dry Fly Fishing

Numbers, numbers, numbers but no big ones. The big ones fed all night during the bright full moon thus the smaller fish took over the feeding lanes today. That’s my guess at least. Still we caught a bunch of fish on dries.

9.11.11. Lower Sac Fishing Report

September is a great time to fish the Lower Sac, Patsy was on her hook set and landed her biggest rainbow yet. Switching between small beatis patterns and hydrophsyche caddis, we were into them most of the day.

9.10.11 Upper Sac and McCloud

Started the day on the Upper Sac catching some big migratory lake fish, had lunch at the great Dunsmuir Brewery, and finished off on the McCloud rainbows. What a damn fine way to spend a day.

See the gold miners on the other side, cast over there.

8/26/11 Lower Sac group trip for Mike Hibbard

A big group of fisherman hit the Lower Sac. 6 boats on our trip. Fun was had by all. Before today, Ed and Sean had no fish on a fly to tell about. Open this and check out there first day of fly fishing with a guide.

8/25/11 Day 2 for Scott, Lower Sac

Fishing was very similar to the trip before. A couple of big fish got away that I think Scott would have loved to put in the net. These very impressive Rainbow Trout are what keeps us coming back to this river.

8.25.11 Kamloops on the Upper Sac

I simply love to hunt big fish, target them in their seasonal hang-outs, be at the right place at the right time. One great place to be is on the Lower Stretches of the Upper Sac. The Kamloops (Shasta Lake Rainbows) are thick this year. 16-20″ fish on size 18 beatis. CLICK FOR PICS

Jim and Juli are great clients, because they are really really into fly fishing but also totally relaxed about it, eager to learn it as a pastime rather than a sport. They cant claim to be beginners for much longer catching fish like these.

Lower Sac fishing good 8/23/11

Fishing was good on the Lower Sac. The temp. in Redding was over 100. This was our first of two days. We took a day off, but tomorrow Scott and I are gonna hit it again. I’m looking forward to it. >>See more pics here.
